Persatuan Tarian Sukan Bersatu Malaysia a.k.a MUDA, Malaysia United Dancesport Association founded in 2005 to cultivate and promote dancesport in the country. We are registered under the Sports Commissioner of Malaysia.

The main mission of the MUDA is to develop and encourage dancesport at national level and later international level. MUDA support fair participation in this sports and it is open to all Malaysian. With full support from the Sport Commissioner, MUDA encourage ALL Malaysian to help promote and develop dancesport in the country.

Beside developing dancers, MUDA also actively developing dance teachers in hope to widen the dancesport at the national level.

MUDA Background

This body or organisation is registered with the Sports Commissioner of Malaysia under the name Persatuan Tarian Sukan Bersatu Malaysia or in English is known as Malaysia United Dancesport Association a.k.a MUDA in short. It was founded on 8th September 2005 with registration number 1579/2005. It is recognised as a sports body and governed under the Sports Act 1997 (Section 17). 

The founding President is Mr. Nixon Ong; he devoted his life in dancing since 1988. He is one of the most sorts after and respected international teacher and scrutinizer in ballroom dancing in particular Latin Dance. Today he dedicated most of his time to develop dancesport in our country. 

The official mailing and registered address is at 5-3-12, Jalan 3/109F, Danau Business Centre, 58100 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 

MUDA is managed by a team of dedicated individuals whom also fond of dancing. They come from a very diverse and dynamic background, together they formed as Central Committee of 17 members.  

 

Objectives and Aims

1.    To encourage and develop dancesport at the national level.

2.    To maintain and enhance good relationship with all organising bodies and international dance governing bodies.

3.    To ensure transparency and fair in all selection of sportsman, officer, coach and other related people who are representing the country in dancesport.

4.    To represent Malaysia in any dancesport competition.

5.    To ensure accounts are audited and submit reports on activities’ expenses and other reports required by the Commissioner of Sports in each financial year.

6.    To ensure association’s Constitutions and Regulations are followed by all members.

7.    To perform welfare, social work or business to raise fund for the association as long as it is not contradicting or against the country’s law.

8.    All revenue made from any business and investment performed will be use to run, prolong, and meeting the association’s objectives and aims. However, the allocation is allowed to be use as wages and/or expenses for individuals who work for the association. Association is permitted to establish business units and own properties with condition the profits are to be deposited into the association’s fund.

9.     To conduct activities without any discrimination of race, gender, religion, skin colour, origin, language, interest in politics or any views hold by its members.
